Steak is always a favorite around here but I wanted to switch it up. These are easy to make and come out nice and tender since they are made in the crockpot. A great thing to make when you don’t have a lot of time for prep. The sauce helps tenderize the meat very well and they taste great with some mashed potatoes. [Read more…]
When I made these all I heard was “It smells amazing in here!” These are savory and crisp since the green beans cook in a bacon and garlic mix that totally permeates the beans. These are a side dish that you will want to make again and again. For this recipe I used a mix of fresh and canned beans. [Read more…]
This is a heavy dish. It contains a lot of things that are great on their own but when they come together it’s amazing. This is meatloaf on another level. [Read more…]

It’s been a crazy busy last few weeks! I started a new job and this never ending winter has been sucking my energy levels. But I have been working on some new recipes. I got inspired by this great BBQ brisket recipe from A Family Feast (see here). I tweaked it slightly and made it one Saturday in the crock pot. It came out fantastic, so good in fact that I had to kick my husband out of the kitchen because he kept sneaking bites. I felt like the mom in “A Christmas Story” with the turkey. I learned two things: one, I will be making this again and two, I need to buy a bigger brisket because 2 pounds wasn’t enough! This has become a new favorite around my house, even my toddlers eat it up. [Read more…]
In the words of my son: so delicious, so tasty. This is delectable and the coating is fantastic. It crisps up beautifully in the oven and gives the roast a wonderful flavor. This recipe is so simple and turns out amazing. This will impress anyone. [Read more…]
I used to be really picky about seafood. Like I wouldn’t even eat it unless it was fried clams. Then I slowly started opening up to trying new things and now I’m getting better about trying different things. The only thing I will not eat is canned tuna, I do not like it at all but I saw a tuna steak on sale at the grocery store so I decided to try it and see if I like that. This came out delicious, not overly fishy tasting. It was a nice, mellow flavor. [Read more…]
I tried this one night and my husband is a huge fan! These are perfect for a small Thanksgiving if you don’t want to cook a gigantic bird. You will need some cooking twine to make these which you can get at any cooking supply store for this but in a pinch you can use toothpicks. This is delicious and don’t forget the gravy!
I was hungry one night and couldn’t decide between guacamole or bruchetta, so I decided to do both! I had a loaf of Italian bread that I was almost through so I had a bunch of smaller pieces that were a perfect size and I pretty much inhaled this. You should definitely try this your next party! The guacamole and the tomatoes worked perfectly together and the toast gave it just the right amount of crunch! [Read more…]
This is a great low carb breakfast! I thought they would be nothing like regular pancakes but they are pretty similar. It’s also a great way to get some fruit and protein in the morning. Plus they are easier to mix up than normal Bisquick. [Read more…]
These Honey Garlic Baked Chicken Thighs have a great flavor and cook up so well in the oven. They involve marinating so you need to plan this one out ahead of time to make sure you have enough time to really get the marinade to seep into the meat. [Read more…]
