Being born and raised in New England, the rules of southern living are a little foreign to me. That’s why I loved to get a copy of The Southern Living Party Cookbook. This book covered many aspects of the south that I never experienced, like crab boils and chuck wagon dinners. The author, Elizabeth Heiskell, was raised in the Mississippi Delta, so she came with a full knowledge of all things southern.
The chapters are broken up by receptions, brunches, casual drinks, cookout and celebratory dinners. She covers everything from welcome tea to Christmas night feast. You’ll be prepared with a menu, included with appetizers, desserts and cocktails ideas.
What I also love about this book is that she includes helpful tips to turn you from chef to entertainer. She also lays out her recipes so that they are easy to plan. Her recipe for Wonder Wings with Cider Vinegar-Brown Butter-Honey Drizzle made my mouth water and is definitely something I would serve my guests. Basically, whatever party you have planned, this book will help is be spectacular.
The Southern Living Party Cookbook is the perfect gift for the entertainer in your life and you can get a copy here.
