It’s hard to believe that Halloween is already over and it’s time to plan for Thanksgiving. I feel like summer just ended! But I have the perfect recipe to get you into the full autumn spirit! A perfect fall food are apples! They are delicious and healthy, you can find out more health benefits here. These Apple Cinnamon Pork Chops taste fantastic and make your whole house smell so wonderful as they are cooking. You will have everyone asking for seconds with these! I served them with a side of Roasted Red Potatoes.
3 bone-in pork chops
Salt and pepper
4 tablespoons butter, divided
2 red delicious apples, cored and sliced
1/2 white onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon chili powder
2/3 cup apple juice or cider
1/3 cup whole milk
1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2) Heat large, oven friendly skillet to medium high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Season pork chops with salt and pepper then add to skillet. Cook until browned, 3 minutes per side. Place chops on plate and set aside.
3) Melt one tablespoon of butter in skillet and add apples and onion. Cook and stir until onion is softened and translucent, about 5-6 minutes. Add brown sugar, cinnamon and chili powder.
4) Mix in apple juice and milk, stir. Add in pork chops and place skillet in oven. Bake for 10 minutes or until chops get to 150 degrees internally.
