I always see these amazing looking recipes that called for some Roasted Red Peppers. I had been buying the jarred stuff but I wanted to try making them on my own. It’s incredibly easy to do! Now you can plan ahead and have them ready to go for your next recipe! All you need are some red peppers.
Instructions
1) Cut tops off of peppers and cut in half. Remove the seeds.
2) Preheat broiler to high. Place peppers, cut side down, on a baking sheet.
3) Put peppers under broiler and cook for about 7 minutes until the skin is blackened and wrinkled. Remove from oven and place into a ziplock bag or a glass bowl covered with plastic wrap. Let sit for 20 minutes until cool enough to handle.
4) Pinch the skins off the peppers and discard. If using the peppers right away, you can chop and use or you can put them in a sealable jar with some olive oil to keep till you need them.
