I’ve tried making crab cakes a few times and this version ends up winning. They come out perfect and the way all the ingredients come together makes the crab taste great and not overwhelming. If you are somebody who’s easing into seafood or really wants to impress someone, this is a great recipe to make.
Ingredients:
1 lb lump crab meat
1 1/2 sleeves Ritz Vegetable crackers, crushed (see here)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 large egg
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 cup canola oil
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
1) In a medium bowl, toss the crab meat with the crushed crackers.
2) In another bowl, whisk together mayo with egg, mustard, Worcestershire and hot sauce. Fold the mix into the crab. Mix well.
3) Add oil to skillet and heat over medium-high heat until shimmering. Make crab patties about 1 1/2 inches thick and add to skillet.
4) Cook until browned on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to plate and serve with lemon.
