Cast Iron Steak

April 26, 2017 By: Skaalcomment

Who doesn’t love a good steak? It may seem like it would be hard to make a quality piece at home, but this Cast Iron Skillet is so flavorful and makes the meat come out perfectly! All you need for this is an amazing piece of steak and you will be able to wow everyone!

Ingredients:

2 bone-in ribeye steaks

Salt and pepper

3 tablespoons canola oil

3 tablespoons butter

2 cloves garlic, chopped

3 tablespoons rosemary, chopped

3 tablespoons thyme, chopped

Instructions:

1) Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

2) Season all sides of the steaks heartily with salt and pepper. Cover a baking sheet with foil and top with a wire rack. Place the steaks on the sheet and bake for 45 minutes to an hour. This gets you to medium-rare. If you want you steak cooked differently, adjust the baking time.

3) Take a skillet and heat the canola oil on high heat. Sear the steaks for 30 seconds and flip. Add the butter, garlic, rosemary and thyme. Once melted, stir around the pan and baste the top of the steak.

4) Flip the steaks and baste the other side. Remove from pan and let rest for 10 minutes before carving.
