Who doesn’t love easy pasta dishes? You can do the same old butter and sauce route or you can jazz it up with some bacon and a delicious alfredo sauce. This cooks up easily and can be on the dinner table in less than 30 minutes, which is just enough time some nights to stop the kids from rummaging through the cabinets for snacks. This Bacon Alfredo Penne is comfort food with a ton of flavor that everyone will love.
Ingredients:
5 slices bacon
1/2 cup finely chopped white onion
3 cloves garlic, chopped
12 oz penne
2 cups chicken broth
Salt and pepper
1 cup whole milk
1 cup grated Parmesan
Instructions:
1) In a large skillet, cook bacon until crispy and set aside to drain. Wipe out 3/4 of the grease and cook onion over medium heat until soft and translucent, 2-3 minutes. Add garlic and cook another minute.
2) Add pasta, broth, salt and pepper and mix well. Bring to a boil then cover and reduce to a simmer. Cook for about 15-20 mintues until pasta is tender. Add milk and cook for a few minutes until the liquid thickens up slightly. Stir in cheese and mix until well combined. Garnish with crumbled bacon.
