I love me some grilled cheese. There are so many different ways to make it, see here, you can go traditional or crazy by mixing up the ingredients. Today’s recipe is a sandwich full of flavor. I used Panettone bread by ShopRite as the bread and it made a huge difference.
Panettone is an Italian sweet bread that’s typically enjoyed around the holidays. The beauty of this bread is that it is both sweet and savory so you can use it in so many different ways. You can make some french toast or bread pudding or you can take my route and add a rich cheese like brie and make it a savory sandwich! I used some Raspberry Peach Champagne Jam to really bring out the flavor of the bread. This was so delicious and highly recommended!
- 2 slices Panettone bread
- 2 tablespoons spreadable brie cheese
- 2 tablespoons Peach jam
- 2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- Slice Panettone
Remove Panettone from box and remove wrapping. Slice two evenly sized pieces.
- Turn on the Heat
In a medium sized skillet, heat to medium high heat.
- Prepare Sandwich
On one slice of bread, spread the brie and on the other spread the peach jam. Place together and spread the butter on both sides of the outside.
Place sandwich in skillet and cook under both sides are browned. Serve immediately.
